The Master of Science (MSc) in Accounting Programme aims at catering the emerging needs of high-level professionals who possess advanced accounting knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS). It has been accredited by several leading international professional accounting associations. Graduates who have completed the required degree courses will be eligible to obtain the maximum exemptions of papers from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of UK, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), and the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia (CPA Australia)*. The professional accreditations assures high quality and reinforce internationalization of the programme. Graduates can get a head start in career and enhance their employability and competitiveness with professional qualifications.
The normative study period of the programme is 2 years. The medium of instruction is English (except for “China Taxation” which may be conducted in Chinese). Classes will mainly be held on weekday evenings and on weekends.
Academic Requirements:
An applicant of a Master’s degree programme must possess a Bachelor’s degree or academic background recognized as equivalent by the University of Macau. An applicant may also be required to possess other knowledge or professional experience.
Applicants should have achieved the equivalent* of an overall result of Grade C+ or better in the Bachelor’s degree studies. (Except for the Faculty of Law)
* The equivalent means 2.3 on the 4.0 GPA scale, 14 on the 20-point scale or 70 out of 100.
Proof of English Proficiency:
Obtained a Level 6 of the College English Test (CET) score of 430 or;
Obtained a TOEFL* score of 550 (paper-based examination)/ 80 (Internet-based examination) or;
An IELTS* overall score of 6.0 or above with no sub-score lower than 5.5 or;
Passed the Level 4 or Level 8 of the Test for English Majors (TEM).
