Public accounting and corporate accounting positions increasingly demand strong analytical skills from auditors and analysts and expect them to be well positioned for new work emerging from the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). Organizations today are meeting these new challenges by relying on the Internet of Things, Robotic Process Automation, and other smart technologies, and data-savvy business professionals are in demand.
Differentiate yourself with a STEM-designated Master of Science in Accounting and Business Analytics (MAcc + BA) that will prepare you to pass the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam while gaining technical skills in multivariate data analysis, data programming, data mining, and database management.
The program covers the content areas of the exam and satisfies the 150 credit-hour requirement in Pennsylvania and many other U.S. states to become a CPA.
Once you're admitted to the MAcc + BA program, your previous academic coursework will be reviewed to determine whether you'll need two or three terms to complete the program. You may be required to complete additional prerequisite courses or be eligible to waive courses. This program requires successful completion of a minimum of 33 credits.
Prerequisites
If you have not previously studied accounting, or if your prior accounting studies were not based on the U.S. system of accounting (U.S. GAAP), you will need to complete prerequisite coursework with a grade of B or better as part of the Katz MAcc + BA program.

Prerequisite courses do not count toward the 33-credit requirement to complete the master’s degree. The need to complete prerequisite coursework will add at least one additional term of study. The tuition rate for the additional term will be billed the same rate as the MAcc + BA program. Students can take both prerequisite courses and MAcc + BA coursework in the same term.
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) results may be accepted, but GMAT scores are preferred.
International applicants should have a score of at least 100 on TOEFL, or 7 on the IELTS to be competitive for admission.
