香港城市大学语言研究硕士设有以下4个分支方向：
语言学（General Linguistics）
语料库与实证语言学（Corpus and Empirical Linguistics）
教学语言学（Pedagogical Linguistics）
翻译及传译（Translation and Interpretation）
本项目主旨为：
1. 为学生提供对语言性质的理解，从而在香港的背景下探讨语言对社会和文化的各种影响。
2. 建立一个框架，让学生可以选择专注于语言的某一方面及其与特定社会/文化进程的互动，无论是语言的结构、语言与笔译和口译，还是语言研究的应用；并磨练学生的智力，使他们能够更有效地发挥语言专业人士的作用。
本项目申请要求如下：
学历要求：本科学士学位以上
