Additional Application Requirements：
The following two application requirements are only for visiting students applying to certification programs and all adults and professionals. Please note that only rising juniors and seniors are eligible to apply for certification programs.
A résumé in U.S. business format.
Statement of academic purpose (500 to 750 words)
The statement should address your purpose and interest in pursuing the program, and how the program fits into your overall academic and/or professional growth, focusing in particular on the connection between the program and your academic and/or professional experience. Some applicants use their statements as an opportunity to amplify information contained on the application or academic transcripts. The statement provides an excellent forum for explaining any weaknesses that may appear on the transcript or to highlight any strengths that may not be evident elsewhere.
The following application requirement is only for students who have not yet begun their undergraduate studies.
Letter of permission
Summer Sessions students who have not begun their studies at a school to which they have been admitted as a degree candidate are required to submit a letter from the school granting them permission to begin their studies at Columbia and an official high school transcript.
