Admission Requirements

Applicants should satisfy the following general requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, normally with honors not lower than Second Class; or with an average grade of not lower than “B” in undergraduate courses; or

professional or similar qualifications equivalent to an honors degree from a tertiary educational institution.

Applicants should fulfill the following English Language Proficiency Requirements of the University before admitted to the Program:

a pass grade in English in one of the following examinations in English:

Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (AS Level)

Hong Kong Higher Level Examination

CUHK Matriculation Examination; or

a degree from a university in Hong Kong or an English speaking country; or

scores of one of the following tests that can be submitted for assessment by the program(s) concerned:

TOEFL

IELTS (Academic)

GMAT (Verbal)

PETS (Written and Oral)

College English Test (CET) of PRC; or

a recognized professional qualification awarded in Hong Kong or an English speaking country.

In addition to these minimum admission requirements, applicant should submit GMAT score report taken in or after January 2008#. GRE is accepted in lieu of the GMAT.

Applicants can register for the test online at http://www.mba.com. The GMAT institution code for the MSc in ITM is R9H-0W-24 and the GRE Institution/Department code is 3153/4303.

#Applicants can submit the application first with GMAT scores to be sent to the MSc in ITM Program Office later.

Applicants with seven years' work experience, including five years in a managerial position, may be exempted from the GMAT requirement subject to approval from the Graduate Division. To apply for GMAT exemption, applicants should complete the GMAT Exemption Formand mail to the MSC in ITM Program office with supporting documents.
