霍夫斯特拉大学Hofstra University始建于1935年，位于纽约州长岛市，是一所私立无宗派的高等教育学校，历史悠久，男女合校。

霍夫斯特拉大学获《纽约时报》给予两颗星评价，以美术和戏剧最突出，新成立的电视学院更因设备齐全新颖而傲视全国，单是人造卫星接收器，不是每-所传理学院能负担的新设备，其他办得好的学系，还有商科管理、市场学，会计和国际贸易，值得推荐的学科有工程、计算机科学和出版研究。
