The Materials Science and Engineering (MSEG) Department at the University of Delaware will be holding an interview session on Dec. 16 in Beijing for applicants. The purpose of the interview is to allow the UD professors to check your English abilities and general academic background.

Materials Science and Engineering (MSEG) at UD (http://www.mseg.udel.edu) is a rapidly growing department currently with 14 faculty members and 72 graduate students (~ 50% are international students). The university is centrally located on the US east coast and is in close proximity with a number of major materials-related industrial corporations such as DuPont, J & J, and IBM. Research activities in the department cover biomolecular materials, polymers, nanotechnology, semiconductors, photonics, and materials for renewable energy, including interdisciplinary research in two major centers on composites and energy conversion. Recently UD MSEG is ranked #24 of US PhD programs in Materials Science & Engineering by the US National Research Council 2010 survey.
